Hey y'all,
We had some pretty amazing experiences this week. On Wednesday night we invited Sister Holley to start taking the discussions. We have been meaning to invite her for quite awhile. Since she has been coming to church every week for the past couple months. But every time we were about to. It just never felt like it was right until the other night. She accepted the invitation. So we are looking forward to starting to teach her this week. We met a man named Dexter this week, and we are really excited to be able to start teaching him. He grew up in Memphis, and had an LDS friend. He had heard of the Book of Mormon but didn't understand what it was exactly. So we introduced the Book of Mormon to him as another testament of Jesus Christ. His interest was caught in the fact that it talks about the Resurrected Christ coming to the America's. He is very interested in reading the Book of Mormon. My prayer is that he reads it with a sincere heart so that he can come to know the truth of it.
We have also started to re-teach a Less Active named Sister Sanders. She amazes me when we talk with her because she has a great desire to make her life right. We first came into contact with her on Tuesday, and she asked us to reteach her the lessons. We went over Wednesday and re-taught her about the Restoration. She even had a nonmember sister-in-law there, and was testifying and explaining things to her. Sister Sanders came to church yesterday, and I was ecstatic! I am so happy for her. She has true Faith in that she is acting upon the desires of her heart.
Right now Sister Tu'ifua and I are continually trying to work on ways to show the members that we Love them. We feel that that is what is going to motivate them to do missionary work.
This week we had a pretty interesting experience. We went to see Riley for our return appointment, and were greeted by a very clever sign. It read, "No Soliciting. We aren't buying and we already have God in our hearts." I thought that this was pretty smart on their part. They have everything covered...;)
This morning I was given a really neat insight by the Spirit. I was reading Alma 12:6 and was reminded of 2 Nephi 1:15. In Alma 12:6 It tells us that the devil encircles us about with chains. While 2 Nephi 1:15 talks about how the Lord encircles us about in the arms of his Love. How grateful I am to know that all the Lord wants for us is to be happy. He wants to save us from sins, pains, and weaknesses. We just need to accept the atonement, and rely completely on him.
My hope is that we all can let the atonement fully encompass us. That we come to understand it more daily. That we strive each day to understand more about our Savior. May we always Remember Him.
Love,
Sister W. Williams
