Hey y'all,

I hope everyone had a MERRY CHRISTMAS. I sure had a good time here. We had a very busy couple of days, and were able to make contact with quite a few Less-Actives.

Things are going pretty great here in Senatobia. DJ and Rea are getting married tomorrow. I am so excited for them!! I love how the gospel is truly changing their family. The spirit is in their home. Whereas before it wasn't really present. They both are making their lives right with God. I love seeing the transformation in their appearance as they become more Christ-like. We are just praying that DJ is able to get work off this Sunday. We were pretty disappointed when Sister Hodges didn't show up to church yesterday. On Tuesday she made multiple references to us of coming at 9. I am praying that we can get to her deep concern. I know how much she needs church. I really want her to make the first, and hardest move. To just come, and walk in the church building. I know that when she does this she will get back to weekly attendance in no time.

On Saturday we had a neat experience with a recent convert; Ramona Breazele. After visiting Brother Wolfe with her she took us out to dinner. What we didn't know is that she was going to use her Christmas money on us for the dinner. As she got to the counter to pay the cashier said that it had already been paid. Ramona, and us were confused. Ramona kept handing the cash over when finally the waiter mentioned that the people behind us had paid the bill. Now, what had happened is that a member, and her non-member husband paid the bill. It was a great example to me of how I can do random acts of service.

Today in studies I received a lot of revelation on how I can be more Christ-like. I studied a talk titled "The Merciful Obtain Mercy" by President Uchtdorf. This was a great talk for me to read since one of my New Years resolutions is to become "really, really, good at forgiving." This talk allowed me to see how I can stick to, and accomplish this resolution. Two things that really stuck out to me in this talk were that "we must not cast stones". Also, "the moment we judge someone else, we condemn ourselves..." (Quote from the Apostle Paul). I liked these quotes because it made me realize that I need to only focus on the positives and strengths of others. I need to forgive others of everything so that I can be made spotless. My goal this week is to only focus on the positive.

My invitation to everyone is make New Years Resolutions that you can keep. Set spiritual goals that will allow you to become more like Christ. May we forget and forgive so that we can obtain mercy, and forgiveness ourselves. I know the Savior lives, and loves us. He is the reason for the season.

Love,

Sister W. Williams

MERRY CHRISTMAS y'all,

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas this year enjoyed with family, and friends. Also, that you are able to focus on the true meaning of Christmas; Christ's birth.

This week has been a great week!!! Full of lots of exciting things. First off, DJ AND REA CAME TO CHURCH!! DJ was nervous, and ended up leaving right before priesthood which made us sad. But he did participate in reading during the Sunday school lesson. We were really shocked and happy about that. Since it took a couple of lessons for him to just read with us there. He really enjoyed church, and is very excited for his Baptism on January 17th! :) Also, DJ and Rea have made plans with Bishop Chisholm to be married on December 31st. It's exciting to see the rapid progress they are making. I know that Heavenly Father is proud. Jarrod Gant is doing really well. He is loving his job, and is doing great with the Word of Wisdom. He is regularly studying the B.O.M personally, and they are reading as a family as well. He did great at friendshiping DJ yesterday. As he invited DJ to go to Priesthood with him. What's neat is that Jarrod is recognizing the Holy Ghost more and more in his life. He feels as though every Priesthood lesson is directed directly at him. As he shared this with us it was a testimony to me of how important the gift of the Holy Ghost is in our lives.

Robin Wilson who is a recent convert is doing remarkable! She told us this week that she feels inclined to finally share her testimony next fast Sunday. Since her family received a much needed "Secret Santa" this Christmas. She also mentioned that she had an incredible missionary experience this week. She corrected anti that her friend Heather had heard about the church. She also invited her to try church sometime. I loved seeing the excitement, and joy that came to Robin from her sharing the gospel.

I feel like I need to share this quote from Bishop Gary E. Stevenson. Since two of my friends sent me it this week. Bishop Stevenson says, "This Christmas, mend a quarrel. Seek out a forgotten friend. Dismiss suspicion and replace it with trust. Write a letter. Give a soft answer. Encourage youth. Manifest your loyalty in word and deed. Keep a promise. Forgo a grudge. Forgive an enemy. Apologize. Try to understand. Examine your demands on others. Think first of someone else. Be kind. Be gentle. Laugh a little more. Express your gratitude. Welcome a stranger. Gladden the heart of a child. Take pleasure in the beauty and wonder of the earth. Speak your love and then speak it again." This really speaks to my heart because this is how I need to be living everyday of my life. This quote tells us how we can live a CHARITABLE life. So my goal this week is to work on all these things. To truly see others as Christ sees them.

My invitation to everyone is to pray, and seek to know what gift you can give Christ this year. I know that as y'all do. Christmas will have a stronger meaning, and you will feel yourself becoming more "perfected in Christ."

Love y'all and Merry Christmas,

Sister W. Williams

Hey y'all,

Even though our teaching pool still is extremely low. We had a lot of amazing miracles happen this week. First off, DJ and Rea told us that they are going to get married!!! :) They are planning on getting married the week after Christmas, and I am so excited for them. They really want to make things right, and work things out. Also, on Thursday the flushed a pack and a half worth of cigarettes DOWN THE TOILET!! Sister Goodwine, and I couldn't believe what we were seeing...it was incredible. Rea is doing really good with not smoking. DJ however, is having a hard time with it at work. We are sending DJ Book of Mormon verses to read each day to try, and help. We also invited DJ to get work off at least one Sunday this month. He said of any Sunday it would be this week. So are praying for another miracle. That he will be able to get work off, and will come to church with Rea, and their girls! :)  Oh, and we were able to set a Baptismal date with him for January 17th! I am just thrilled at the progress that both Rea, and DJ are making.

We are making very good strides with Sister Hodges. In fact, on Tuesday she mentioned that she almost came to church last Sunday. She said that just as she was getting ready to bring her grandsons with her. Her daughter-in-law mentioned that she was taking the boys to the Baptist church. Sister Hodges said that she got discouraged. So she ended up just staying home. This broke my heart! However, it made me extremely happy since she is SO CLOSE to coming to church now. Also, she mentioned to us that after reading through the Gospel of Jesus Christ pamphlet. She now understands that in order to be a "true Christian" you need to come to church weekly.

Sister Holley really surprised me yesterday. She agreed with Sister Linda Welch that I should get a priesthood blessing for the sleep problems I have been having. (Talking/ moaning/ crying in my sleep). Yes, I have no recollection whatsoever that I do this. My companion sure does though! In fact, she said that this morning at 5:30 a.m. I said, "That's good. Now we know what's wrong. So we can fix it. Apparantly, I am teaching in my sleep....;) I didn't realize she really understood what priesthood blessings did. So that was exciting to hear! :)

I really love 2 Nephi 25:26. It mentions that "we TALK of CHRIST, we REJOICE in CHRIST, we PREACH of Christ, we PROPHESY of CHRIST." What a great reminder to focus our attention on Christ. Especially during this Christmas season. I think that the best gift we can give Christ this season. Is a renewed effort to focus on HIM throughout the year of 2015. During this season the world focuses on materials. God wants us to focus on Christ. As we focus on Christ our souls will be filled. We will receive the gifts that we truly want to receive- Peace, Joy, Comfort, and Love.

May y'all feel of Christ's love during this Season
Love,

Sister W. Williams

Hey y'all,

This week has been very interesting. Our teaching pool has dropped while trust with members has increased. Sister Hodges is really coming along. Each week we visit her we make more, and more progress with her coming back to church. This week we taught her about C.P.R and the importance of it. (Church, Pray, Read) It made my heart happy when I asked what got her back into reading the Book of Mormon. That she said that the assignments we gave her week after week got her back reading.:) I am looking forward to day that she comes back to church. Since I know how much she will benefit from it.

It thrilled me yesterday when Jarrod came to church!! He has missed the past two weeks, and we could definitely tell a difference in him. I could tell that he was struggling spiritually because of all the trials he has been experiencing. Church attendance, and reading the Book of Mormon is what he needed! I loved how much happier he seemed yesterday at church. :)

Sister Goodwine, and I are seeing amazing progress with gaining trust of members. Each week we visit several different families to leave spiritual thoughts. Even though we haven't received any referrals from it. The members are wanting us in their homes more resulting in more dinner appointments. :)

We had a great visit with Patricia Carter this week. It was an interesting visit in that she mentioned to us that Taylor; her 8 year old wants to be Baptized. So not only are we going to be working with her husband Michael. But we are going to start working with Taylor as well. It's so neat to see how much this gospel can bless this family!

This morning in studies I started out by focusing on God's love. That lead me into studying about trials and afflictions. The reason why God's love lead to studying about trials. Is that God shows us how much he loves us by letting us experience hard things. During my studies I read "The Currant Bush" By Elder Hugh B. Brown of the Council Of The Twelve. He says, "I just want you to know that if you don't get what you think you ought to get, remember, 'God is the gardener here. He knows what he wants you to be.' Submit yourselves to his will. Be worthy of his blessings, and you will get his blessings." I love this quote since it's a good reminder that we can only reach our divine potential through trials. They are the only things that can shape is into ETERNAL beings.

I would invite each of you to read "The Currant Bush". It will change your life completely. It will help you to realize how blessed we are that God "loves us enough to cut us down." May y'all realize the Hard Things that you can do. Anything is possible with God.

Love y'all!!

Hey y'all,

I hope and pray that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Let us use this season of giving as a reminder of being more Christ-like. Afterall, As "we are in the service of our fellow beings, we are only in the service of our God." (Mosiah 2:17). We had a pretty great week this week.

Michael Carter is doing extremely well. We had a great lesson with him on Friday evening. We taught the Restoration, and he was able to really comprehend the Priesthood. As we concluded our lesson with him. He said that he now really understands the importance of the Book of Mormon. He loves how he now understands how it connects with the Bible. He committed to praying, and working towards Baptism on December 13th!! :) My prayer is that we are able to meet with him enough times so that he can get all the lessons in time.

This morning we received a sad text from Sister Holley. She cancelled our appointment with her for this Wednesday. In fact, she said that we will resume our lessons at the beginning of the new year. This absolutely broke my heart. I was saddened that she is inhibiting her progression right now. But I can keep my head high in knowing that I have tried my best to help her to progress.

Rea Sanders (less-active) is really doing well. We are struggling with getting her to come to church on Sundays. But she really wants to get her life in order. She is working on being fully Repentant. She mentioned to us the other day that she, and DJ are thinking about getting married within the next 2 weeks! Word of Wisdom is also an issue. But we are just trying to help her overcome one thing at a time. I love how she is really trying to make positive changes in her life. She seems to have a great desire in getting back right with God.

Sister Goodwine, and I are continuing to work on member trust. Since the key to finding now is going to really be member referrals. Since, I have knocked most of the doors in Senatobia now... Please pray that we find new people to teach!! ;)

We had another great visit with Sister Hodges this week. I was happy when she mentioned that her son; Jeffrey asked her when she will be coming back to church. Even though she wouldn't commit to coming to church this past Sunday. We are continuing to make great strides in getting her back to church. I am praying that we find out what her deep concern is for coming back this week.

I love this quote from President Uchtdorf's talk, "Living the Gospel Joyful" from this past Women's Conference. "being a daughter of eternal parents is not a distinction you earned or you will ever lose." I absolutely love this quote. It helps me to truly realize the diving worth and potential we have as children of God. His love is eternal and infinite. Our duty is to look and pray to him so that we can reach what he knows we can become.

May we all become who God wants and needs us to come. I know that we all will be able to reach our divine potential as we seek God's guidance in all things. Also, as we grow and develop on all Christ-like attributes.

Love y'all!

Hey y'all,

Things seemed to be a little slow this week. Sister Goodwine, and I were excited about yesterday. Since Andrea Sanders was supposed to come to church. But she didn't show up. I was sad because I know how much coming to church regularly will bless her life. I am praying that she comes this Sunday, and feels the Spirit in great abundance. So that she will have an increased desire to come to church each and every week. Our lesson with Sister Holley went really well. She realizes now that she can't progress until she is Baptized. She agreed to work towards Baptism for January 6th. Sister Goodwine and I believe that more member support, and friendship will help her to work towards this goal. So we are working on having sisters in Relief Society sit by her each week.
This week we experienced quite a few miracles. We were able to get back into contact with both Tiffany Newson, and Michael Carter. I am grateful that Sister Goodwine followed the promptings she received by the spirit. So that we could get back into contact with these elect individuals.

This week I was reminded that GOD IS IN CHARGE. On Friday I felt strongly that we needed to try and go see Sister Hodges. Since we have been out of contact with her for over a month. But it seemed as though it wasn't going to happen. We texted over 5 sisters since our original ride had to cancel. No one seemed to have a positive response. Well, after our lesson with Sister Holley. Sister Denise Jones said that she was on her way to pick us up. This was exciting news! My immediate thought was that GOD needed us to see Sister Hodges that afternoon. Our visit was incredible, and the spirit was very strong. Without any of us knowing Sister Jones, and Sister Hodges have dealt with similar trials. This helped because a very strong friendship between the two women has developed. During the lesson I felt strongly prompted to ask Sister Hodges if she has received her patriarchal blessing yet. She said that she hasn't but that she has wanted one previously. I believe that this will help her to have the desire to come back to church. :)

This week I studied "Choose Wisely" by Elder Quentin L. Cook. Found in the Nov. 2014 General Conference issue of the Ensign. A couple of things stood out as I read this talk. The one that really hit me is; "Even worthwhile endeavors need evaluation in order to determine if they have become distractions from the best goals." This really hit me. It goes along with the principle of Good-Better-Best. It reminded me that I need to daily reflect on what the BEST decisions are. To keep an eternal vision, and to focus on the things that will help me to reach Eternal Life. I hope y'all have a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!! May we all have an attitude of gratitude, and keep it through the coming year. I am so grateful for each and everyone of you. Y'all have made a lasting impact on my life.

Hey y'all,

This week has been an exciting week. Jarrod Gant was Baptized on Saturday, and was Confirmed yesterday. He had a lot of family that attended his baptism. His brother, and mom seemed particularly touched by the changes that they have seen in his life. When we asked Jarrod how he felt after his Baptism. He said that things seem to be "more clear." Our next goal for the Gant family is to prepare them for the Temple. Also, for Jarrod we are going to be working on preparing him to receive the Priesthood. I am so excited for the Gant family. There are so many blessings that await them as they continue to move forward in this gospel.

I was saddened yesterday when DJ and Rea didn't show up for church. Especially since DJ had specifically gotten work off to come. When we saw them on Friday he seemed excited to attend church. We taught him about the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and his understanding seemed quite complete. It was exciting when he really understood the sacrament, and the importance of taking it weekly. He was the first one that I have taught. That has really understood the cleansing effect that partaking of the sacrament has in our lives. We invited him on Friday to start praying about God opening a way that he may be able to come to church every week. Especially since his boss doesn't seem to like or respect the fact that DJ wants to start really getting into church.

Sister Goodwine, and I are doing well. We are working well in unity, and are continuing to work on inspiring the members to do missionary work.

Yesterday, as I looked in the area book. A former investigator stood out to me to go visit. So we drove to the house, and I was confused when it was the house of the Vincent family. Who are members of the church. When we went inside we were able to meet Shaina. She is marrying Josh Karas; who is a member of the church this weekend. Through talking with her we found out that she has been reading a little bit from the Book of Mormon. What was neat is that she said that the things that Sister Tu'ifua told her at Cole's Baptism. Have really stuck with her, and have kept her open to learning more about the gospel. I am looking forward to sharing more of the gospel with her as soon as things get settled after her marriage. It's neat to see how family focused and centered she wants the rest of her life to be.

This week in studies as I have been reading in Helaman and 3 Nephi. I have noticed how prevalent the state of apostasy was. Over and over again men reject God and the prophets. They get prideful and believe they can do things on their own. It has been a good reminder for me to always look to God. To always remember the bigger picture.

I hope that y'all recognize the miracles that God is producing each and everyday of your lives. May we all continue to look to God, and realize that it is only through him that we may accomplish ANYTHING.

Love y'all!

Hey y'all!

This week was extremely stressful, and really great! At one point I wasn't sure how everything was going to work out. But as always, God knows best. With everything working out the way it was supposed to. It was a reminder to me that GOD is in charge. I just need to be better at TRUSTing in the Lord, and his will! Jarrod Gant is doing amazing! He is progressing, and is rapidly working towards his Baptism this Saturday! He had is interview this past weekend, and gave away all of his smoking materials. It's neat to see how he truly is changing his life. In order to fully LIVE the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We will be working our hardest to see him everyday this week. So we can make sure that he keeps his eye on his goal.

We have started to work with another part-member family. We are working on re-activing Rea, and teaching her boyfriend DJ. We taught the Plan of Salvation last friday, and he understood everything pretty well. We committed him to work towards baptism for December 13th. Since during the lesson he said, "so I need to be Baptized." This week we are really going to make a push for him trying to get work off on Sunday.
Sister Goodwine and I are doing well. We are just continuing to work on uniting ourselves with the members.

We had a neat experience last Monday as we washed the car. Charlie McGee, a less-active found us, and talked to us. He was a member in the Collierville Ward who ended up around the wrong group of friends. He wants to get back in church. I am excited to meet with him this weekend, and get him back in church!

This morning I read Alma 60: 23-24. To me these verses illustrate what investigators and less-actives go through. As they repent, and start Living more fully the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Their outward appearance changes, and you can see the light of Christ radiate through them. I love being a part of this transformation!

May we all LIVE the gospel of Jesus Christ more fully in our lives. A great change will come as we do!

Love y'all,

Sister W. Williams

Hey y'all!

I hope everyone had a great week. I sure did! We are continuing to see lots of miracles here in Senatobia! Jarrod Gant is rapidly progressing, and is still working towards his baptism date of November 15th. We fasted yesterday with him for strength to live the W.O.W. He is working really hard on it, and is doing a great job of cutting back on cigarettes. It's neat to see how this gospel is truly changing him. He is living the gospel, and as a result. The light of Christ shines brighter from his countenance than ever before. I just love how this gospel is a gospel of CHANGE.

We were able to get back into contact with Rea Sanders this week. We had a great visit with her. As a result we are going to be teaching her fiancee; DJ tomorrow night. She has experienced a lot of difficult trials and challenges lately. So I know that strengthening her relationship with Christ will help her a lot right now. We re-committed her to read from the B.O.M everyday with DJ. Since she felt that that would really help both of them out. I know that as they both live the gospel, and embrace change that their family will be strengthened and blessed!

Sister Goodwine, and I are doing really great.  We are teaching better in unity, and seem to be in good "harmony" teaching wise. We are really enjoying serving together!

Yesterday was a day of MIRACLES!! First off, Gary Newton (a friend of Sister Holm) just showed up to church. He actually walked to the church twice. Since he thought that church started an hour earlier than it did. I was very impressed by this desire he had to attend services. He really enjoyed church services, and really loved the Gospel Principles book. He has talked with members before. So I am excited to teach him, and his family tonight! What a tender mercy of the Lord this was! :)

Also, I noticed that Brother Don Wolfe was at church yesterday morning. Sister Tu'ifua and I had made first contact with him, and then had the Elders start working with him. Brother Wolfe mentioned that this was the 3rd Sunday he had been to church. But it was the first time he got up early enough for sacrament meeting. He mentioned that he knows that this is where he needs to be. He thanked me for being the first contacts for him with the church again. How great God is!! :)

This morning during my Book of Mormon study Alma 43:37 really stuck out to me. I likened it to having the armor of God on. As we put the armor of God on everyday through scripture study, prayer, obedience to the commandment, etc...We will be protected from the adversary and darts of the wicked. But when we "forget" or stop putting the armor on, we will be brought down. We will be turned away from God (personal apostasy) and will be brought to Spiritual Death. This was a good reminder to me of how important the armor of God truly is.

May we all continuously put on the armor of God. For without it we will not be protected. We will be happy and joyful as we continue to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Love y'all!

Hey y'all,

This week was a pretty great week! Things are really progressing with Jarrod Gant. He is praying, and working towards the Baptismal date of November 15th. So please keep in your prayers. We went over on Thursday and had a full lesson on Repentance. We helped him to understand why it's important to Repent daily. We also helped him to recognize that he is already Repenting. By attending church, praying and reading the scriptures. Since he doesn't have a background of doing these things. We went back on Saturday and had a full lesson on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He seemed to understand everything pretty clearly. Yesterday in Gospel Principles we talked about Fasting. He asked if he could skip 3 or 4 meals since going without 2 would be easy for him. He said he wants to do a true fast. So we explained how he can fast from other things along with going without food.

Other than seeing Jarrod we weren't able to see our top investigators. Due to sickness, and busy schedules. I am praying that we are able to get back into contact with them this week. But on the Brightside a lot of people talked to us, and we were able to teach a lot of lessons.

My new companion is Sister Goodwine from St. George, UT. We are working on Unity. It seems to be coming along slowly but surely...

We had a really neat experience this week. On Friday an impression came to me to go to a subdivision called Country Meadows. So we headed there, and I parked the car. Before we got out of the car we prayed, and then I asked Sister Goodwine which way we should go. So she pointed to the right and we headed that way. I then felt strongly prompted to turn right, and knock a certain door. Which was a little strange since you could see straight through the glass screen door. This is where we met Kevin. At first it seemed as though he was just going to bash us. But he was really friendly, and had lots of questions. He has had many interactions with Mormons, and said that it is the religion he most agrees with. He mentioned that he loves temple square and really enjoyed his visit there. I am looking forward to teaching him more. This experience was a testimony builder to me of how the spirit will guide us. As we heed spiritual promptings we will see success.

I really enjoyed my reading of Alma 26 this morning. This chapter seems to get me through the challenges of being a missionary. I love how the sons of Mosiah and Alma the younger never gave up during difficult times. Of course, they were about to turn back as it says in verse 27. But they stuck to it, and saw much success. They did all they could do by preaching and teaching wherever they went. (vs. 29) It helps me to understand that my duty is to declare Repentance the best that I can. God will do the rest.

My prayer is each of us come to realize how the Spirit works with us. I know that as we do we will find joy, and happiness in this life.

Thanks for all your prayers.

Love, Sister W. Williams

For the month of November our mission is going for the goal of 100 Baptisms, and 100 Reactivations. In order to achieve this goal we are making sacrifices. Such as ending P-day at 2 p.m. instead of 6 p.m. That means that I will not be able to write anyone back in the month of November. So please keep writing, and just know that I won't reply back for awhile...

Hey y'all,

This week was another great week of Miracles. This area is truly exploding right now, and it is very exciting to be a part of it. Our visit with Jared Gant on Monday night was incredible. It went better than I would have ever expected. We followed up on his reading of Alma 18. He said that he couldn't remember what we invited him to read so he had read Alma 17 instead. We gave him the Restoration lesson, and his comprehension was amazing. During the lesson he said, "So the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is Christ's restored church?" It was incredible to me how he made this connection on his own. Between Monday and Wednesday he had read the first 5 chapters of 1 Nephi. He was sick on Wednesday so we were unable to see him for our appointment that morning. I am looking forward to seeing him this week, and continuing to help him progress in this gospel.

We were able to see Rosie and Kee this week. It wasn't the best lesson we have ever had....it started off terrible. But we were able to save it luckily....I am not really sure what exactly happened. Kee during the lesson asked us if you can get out of Spiritual Death. We explained that it's by living the Gospel of Jesus Christ, praying, scripture study, and church attendance that one is saved by this death. At the end of the lesson we found out that the reason that she asked us this. Was because she feels like she hasn't been getting an answer if the Book of Mormon is true. She said that she has been praying and reading but doesn't feel like God has answered. She felt that the reason for "no answer" was that she was in Spiritual Death. I responded by asking her how she feels when she prays and reads. She responded by saying that she feels "good". I then turned to Galatians 5:22-23 and went through the fruits of the spirit. I am praying that this week she was able to recognize the spirit as she prayed and read.

Sister Holm came to church yesterday, and loved it. She told Sister Shields- the member that took her to and from church that she wants to start coming regularly. It was so great to have Sister Holm at church. Since the sister missionaries here have been working with her for about 9 months. Also, since she has been inactive for years. She said that she really enjoyed Relief Society. Last night as we visited with her you could see the spirit illuminating from her. It was neat to see how church truly lifted her spirit, and allowed the Light of Christ to illuminate from her more fully.

I was really struck in my studies by Alma 5:7. The key phrase in this verse to me is, "...their souls were illuminated by the light of the everlasting word;..." I just love this phrase!! To me it means that as we study the scriptures our souls will be filled with light. We will be delivered from our darkest hours, and we will find great happiness as we go through this life.

I loved how in Specialized Training this week we talked about letting others see how happy we are. As we have been blessed with this gospel of good news. Really helping others to see the joy that comes from living, and having this gospel in our lives. My goal for this week is to bear this good news with enthusiasm, and happiness. So that others will WANT this in their lives.

My prayer is that all of us share this gospel of good news with happiness of heart. That we share the Book of Mormon with all those that we Love. Since we understand the spiritual power, and protection that can come into ones life from studying God's word.

I KNOW that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. Consistent study of it has brought more happiness in my life than I could have ever imagined was possible. It is only through reading it everyday though that my testimony has been strengthened. I know that great happiness awaits all of God's children. Who study the Book of Mormon on a daily basis.

Have a great week!

Love y'all!

Hey y'all!

This week was a stark contrast from last week. I feel that my whole mission is very bipolar week to week...anyway...

The area here really exploded this past week. We are beginning to work with a lot of part member families. On Wednesday, we received a text from Bishop Chisolm. It said that Jared Gant would come to church if we delivered church clothes to him. So on Thursday we went to deliver the clothes. We committed him to church, and reading Alma 18. During the visit he mentioned that he has only been to church a total of a dozen times in his life, and has no background of the Bible. He is very open, and receptive to learning. He said that his motive in learning more is his family. I am excited to go to the Gant home tonight and teach him about the Restoration. His wife is super excited about him being receptive to the gospel at this time.

This week we visited Patricia Carter. She has been recently coming back to church. Even though it is every other week since that's when her mom is home on the weekends. When I asked her what their families motive is for coming back to church. She mentioned that it is for the blessings that will come. She said that they have been through a lot lately, and figured going back to church would help. By the end of the visit we had a return appointment for this Wednesday. We are going back when Michael; her non-member husband is off of work. We are excited to be able to help him to understand more about the Book Of Mormon. Since he has recently started to read it.

Yesterday, we met the Mask family. During the past few weeks I have felt strongly prompted to go to a specific area here. But we haven't been able to get there because of limited miles. We finally had plans to be out that way yesterday. So we Spiritual Harvested that area yesterday afternoon. As we began walking into the neighborhood. A house immediately stuck out to both Sister Tu'ifua, and I. We knocked, and were immediately welcomed into the home. As we talked, LouRay mentioned how she has visited many churches but has never felt comfortable. She even convinced her husband Wayne to come visit our church "soon". What was neat about this experience. Is that Wayne knows a lot of the members in our congregation. Also, even though LouRay says she is "Baptist" and probably won't change. She said that she may change her mind. What's neat to me is that LouRay is definitely seeking the gospel even though she doesn't know it right now.

Also, yesterday Sister Cummings came up to Sister Tu'ifua, and asked that we start teaching her daughter. :)

This week I was given more understanding regarding 2 Nephi 27:4-5. We teach a lot about the Apostasy. But no one seems to understand very clearly about WHY it happened. In fact, quite a few people get angry at God. Since they can't understand why he would leave his children in darkness. But verse 5 clearly points out hat the reason is because of "iniquity". That is what we as missionaries always share with those we teach. But I could never really find the doctrine behind it...so now I do! Hopefully as I share this scripture now people will understand.

My prayer is that as we all continue to diligently study the scriptures. I know that as a result. New understanding will be given to us.

Love y'all!!

Hey y'all!

I hope everyone was able to enjoy General Conference this past weekend. I sure did. I learned a lot, and am excited to be able to apply the principles I learned into my life.

This week was pretty rough. We had to drop all 3 of our Baptismal dates because we weren't able to see Rosie, Kee, or Tammie. Also, we weren't able to get in with any of our previously progressing investigators. It's sad because we haven't been able to see Sister Holley for the past two weeks. She was progressing quite well, and we were working on really helping her to understand the Book of Mormon. I am praying that we are able to get in with her this week...But we can only do as much as she allows us to do. Also, we were unable to see Rosie and Kee due to Rosie's mom being in the hospital. This was rough since our Restoration lesson two weeks ago was very powerful, and we are now going to have to push back their Baptismal dates.

On the Brightside we were able to find Betty Ritchie, and get her started with reading the Book of Mormon. Betty was found by Sister Hathaway doing her Visiting Teaching. Sister Hathaway called us on Monday, and informed us that Betty; (the mother of the sister she visits) is interested in learning more about the gospel. So Monday night we drove to the Vincent's house, and introduced the B.O.M. to Betty. We had a great lesson with her even though it was difficult to communicate. Betty is very hard of hearing and has to read lips. Luckily, she can read Sister Tu'ifua pretty good! :) Me on the other hand...she can't read no matter how hard I try...;)

I absolutely loved General Conference this weekend. I experienced a very powerful, spiritual experience yesterday, during the Sunday Afternoon session. I went into this Conference with 3 questions specifically written down on an index card. By the last Conference session 2 out of the 3 questions had been answered. So I went into the Sunday Afternoon Session with a prayer in my heart, and faith knowing that God would answer. The question that I had written down was "How can I come to fulfill my patriarchal blessing." Not only was this question answered, but it was answered boldly and clearly. The answer came from the talk by Elder Carlos A. Godoy he said that we all must ask ourselves the following question. "Am I LIVING the way that allows me to fulfill my patriarchal blessing?" I am so grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who knows the desires of our hearts. He is willing to answer us if we just ask.

Most of my learning from this past week occurred during General Conference. I was struck by the talk that Elder Richard G. Scott gave. I loved how he spoke of 4 tools that need to become habits in our lives. He spoke of Prayer, Scripture Study, Weekly Family Home Evening, and Attending the Temple. He said that as these 4 tools become habits "Satan's attacks will increase, but our Spiritual protection will as well." I absolutely love this principle. These are simple habits that will keep us on the path to Eternal Life.

My prayer is that we all take what we learned from this Conference and apply it. That we truly strive to be better Disciples of Christ. As we heed the prophets and apostles words we will not fail. We will continue on the path that leads to the "tree of life."

Love y'all!

Hey y'all!

We had a lot of exciting things happen this week. We set 3 Baptismal Dates!!!! We set the date of October 18th with Rosie and Kee. We also set a date of October 25th with Tammie. Unfortunately, none of them were able to come to church yesterday. So we are going to work hard this week. So that we can get them to attend at least one session of General Conference this weekend. Tammie was a tender mercy of the Lord this week. Sister Hughes; one of the members in the ward referred us to Tammie as recent move ins. Sister Hughes is already doing a great job of fellowshipping Tammie and her daughters Aaliyah (age 6) and Kanijha (age 9). In that she offered to bring them to church yesterday. I was disappointed when they didn't show up yesterday. Since they committed solidly to attending during our lesson with them Saturday afternoon. The hard thing about this week was that we weren't able to see Kassandra or Sister Holley. Both of whom are some of our top investigators right now. I just don't understand why we are having trouble getting in with our top investigators...

Sister Tu'ifua and I are doing great. We both are continuing to work on EXACT obedience. We are working on getting rid of ANYTHING that keeps us from being 100% obedient. I know that as we continue to do so power will come into our teaching.

We were finally able to get back in with Joan Rose this week. After Sister Tu'ifua read Alma 34:32 with her she asked about the Book of Mormon. We then introduced and explained the Book of Mormon. Her next question was how we respond to Revelations 22:18 "do not add to or take away". So I explained that it makes the same reference in Deuteronomy. It seemed to make sense to her. After explaining that she asked where one can get a copy of the Book of Mormon. So I handed a copy to her, and explained that it is free. In her prayer before we left she asked Heavenly Father to keep her mind opened. I am excited for her to read the Book of Mormon, and to come to know the truth of it for herself! :)

I absolutely loved President Uchtdorf's talk from the General Women's Meeting. I especially loved the analogy of the Umbrella. How God is showering us with blessings constantly. But because of our disbelief, sins, and disobedience we shield them from us. Just as an Umbrella shields us from the rain. How profound that was to me! We literally keep ourselves from being blessed consistently. I also loved his talk because it really put the atonement into perspective for me. It reaffirmed to me that Heavenly Father loves us no matter what. He loves us when we do good and when we sin. He has an all perfect, consistent love.
This week Elder Zwick of the Seventy came. Here are some highlights I took away. He shared how missionary work is ACTIVE not passive. He stated that it's not enough to be a good example. We need to invite, Invite, INVITE!! He invited all ward and stake council members to  have someone take the discussions in their home by the end of the transfer (3.5 weeks). Bishop Chisolm has taken on the challenge, and yesterday in PEC invited the ward council members to do the same. I am excited to see what the outcome is!!!
My invitation to y'all is to do the same. Prayerfully ask Heavenly Father to put someone in your path that needs the gospel in their lives. I know that as you do he will provide the way. I also pray that everyone pays attention to General Conference and goes in with questions. The Lord will answer, and we will grow spiritually!

Have a great week!

I love y'all!

Hey y'all!

Hope everything is going well. This week was full of up's and down's but overall it was a pretty good week. We were able to see Sister Hodges, and as always we arrived at the perfect time. Every Friday during weekly planning the Spirit guides us to perfect date, and time that we need to go see her. It's always a testimony to me of how diligent, spirit led planning pays off. Unfortunately, she had to go back out of town this weekend so she couldn't attend Stake Conference. But we ended up getting a solid commitment of bringing her grandkids to scouts this Wednesday. Along with getting a pretty solid commitment for church next Sunday. During our visit she said, "You just need to live here with me. I will build another wing." I am glad to know that our visits always uplift her.

We had a really great lesson with Sister Holley this week. During our District Meeting earlier that morning we asked for suggestions on how we might be able to help Sister Holley. Since we have been struggling with knowing exactly what she is in need of. Elder Despain suggested to just simply read a chapter from the Book of Mormon with her. I am glad that we followed that counsel because it seemed to help her out. She has had a lot of confusion with starting to read the Book of Mormon. Just because of all the different names of the prophets. We still can't seem to help her to understand the background of the B.O.M. which is pretty frustrating. Anyways, we ended up reading 3 Nephi 11 with her, stopping to discuss every 2 verses. We decided to use this chapter since it is something a little more familiar with her Bible background. The spirit was very strong during our lesson. I pray that when we go back this week her understanding has increased from the B.O.M.

I felt strongly impressed to do a whole Book of Mormon lesson with Kassandra this week. What was neat is that it was exactly what she needed. We started the lesson off by following up on her B.O.M. reading. She mentioned that she was only able to read through the Introduction. We asked what stood out, and if she had any questions. The questions she asked led perfectly into what we were going to teach her. We had role-played for her lesson that morning which I was glad for. As a result of effective planning and preparation we were able to have a really effective, spirit filled lesson with her! :)

I absolutely loved Stake Conference this weekend. I especially loved what was shared by President Griffin; the Memphis, Tennessee Temple President. President Griffin gave an analogy in regards to the Temple, and a Bishop's office in a church building. He stated that, "The Temple is Heavenly Father's office. Just like a Bishops office is for the Bishop. It is where God can come, and communicate with us personally." No one else hears our conversation, and we feel safe and comfortable.
Some questions to ask ourselves is. How often to I attend the temple? Do I attend prepared to be taught by the Spirit? I know that as we become a regular temple attending people. The Lord will bless us, and that we will have greater spiritual power against the enemy. Also, as we go prepared to receive guidance from the Spirit we will become spiritually nourished as we attend the Lord's house.

In my scripture reading I have reflected on the saying, "be slow to anger". I don't know about y'all. But I feel that I have a slight problem with that. So this week I am going to be praying, and working hard to make this weakness a strength! :)

Hey y'all!

This week was a really great week! We have 3 Progressing Investigators which is the most I have ever had. So that was a big blessing and miracle this week. Two of them are Rosie and Kee Johnson. We took Sister Hathaway with us to our lesson, and she was a huge benefit for us. When we invited them to church this Sunday. Rosie said that they would have to wait till October. Since she is going out of town this week, and is a Sunday school teacher at her church. By the end of the lesson she prayed that she would be able to find someone to substitute teach for her. On Saturday we got a text from Sister Hathaway saying that Rosie texted, and asked her to save her and Kee seats at church. What was neat is that Sister Hathaway said that in the Temple she prayed for them, and after attending the temple she saw this text!

Sister Holley is progressing pretty good. We taught her the Plan of Salvation, and she seemed to really understand all the principles we talked about. I invited her to Baptism during our lesson, and she said Yes. I then invited her with the date of September 27th. Her response was that she would try. When I invited her at the end of the lesson to offer a prayer asking if this date is right for her. She said that she wasn't ready to pray about it. I came out of the lesson saddened since the date made her feel overwhelmed. But I also came out knowing that I did what the spirit directed me to do. I also knew that I did the best that I could to help her feel the spirit as I extend the Baptismal invitation to her.

This past week I felt strongly prompted to knock on a certain door. I wasn't quite sure about it because it looked pretty dark. But I knew that the Spirit had led us there so we knocked. Kristen came to the door, and allowed us to talk to her for a few minutes. Even though her and her family are moving to Indiana it wasn't a wasted visit. I left her with a Temple pass-along card which got her talking about Utah. She mentioned that her husband would really like to move there. But he wasn't sure if he could get a job not being "Mormon". We clarified that, and said that lots of non-members have really good jobs out in Utah. She was glad to hear that, and said that she would definitely tell her husband that. She also mentioned that she grew up in Illinois pretty near Nauvoo. All I can say is that the Lord really wants her and her family in his fold.

This morning in studies I was touched again by Pahoran's response to Moroni in Alma 61:9. It reminded me of Elder Zwick's talk "What Are You Thinking?" from last General Conference. From reading both of these we come to understand the importance of "putting ourselves in the other person's shoes." I love how Pahoran doesn't get mad at Moroni's false accusation of him. Instead, he forgives him and explains what is really going on. He explains why he hasn't been able to help. I love this because it reminds me that before I respond. I need to strive to understand why people respond in the way they do. So this week I am going to be working on looking at things from other's perspectives.

I hope that each and everyone of us can look at every situation with others points of view. I know that as we strive to do this each, and everyday it will only get easier to do so. I know that as we do this a lot of confusion and contention will be eliminated from our lives. Love y'all and hope everyone has an AMAZING week!!! :)

Hey y'all!

I hope everyone has had a great week! We had a pretty good week here. Things picked up quite a bit from last week! :)

Things seem to be coming along here slowly but surely. Our lesson with Sister Holley this week went both good, and bad. We did the cup-demo with her since she had a lot of confusion regarding the Restoration. Especially, fully understanding the Apostasy. When I asked her what the significance was of Joseph receiving the priesthood. She answered with, "otherwise it would be like any other church." I was thrilled with this answer since it helped us to know that she understands the priesthood. The lesson went poorly in that she was quite confused with the doctrine regarding Pre-Earth Life, and Gospel taught to the Dead. We tried sharing Bible verses with her. But none really seemed to help. So this week we are going to clear up any confusion she has.

We seem to be making some real progress with Sister Hodges. We took Sister Shields to see the Hodges this week, and our visit went really well. We shared "Come Join with Us" by Dieter F. Uchtdorf, and Sister Hodges really enjoyed the talk. Towards the end of our visit she said that "we have renewed her Faith in the church." Unfortunately, she had to go back up to South Haven yesterday to babysit grandkids so she didn't attend church. We are praying that she is able to come this week though!

Sister Tu'ifua and I have been working on talking WITH everyone this week. It seems to be going pretty well. Of course we aren't perfect at it. But we are striving to do our best. As a result, we were able to find 8 New Investigators this week. I know that as we continue to do this we will find people to teach.

We had an interesting experience with Brother Hodges this week. He told us that if we could solve his "unsolvable riddle" that he would come to church. Now, as he explained the riddle to us I didn't follow it....so all hope was lost with me solving it. But then during our visit with Sister Hodges. The answer dawned on Sister Shields. (Later, in the car Sister Shields told us that the Spirit brought the answer to her mind.) She told Brother Hodges the answer, and explained it. He did all he could to say that she was wrong. Sister Shields just walked away saying that she would see him in church! :)

This morning in studies I had a "light bulb" moment concerning 2 Corinthians 13:1. In this verse God is telling us that the Book of Mormon is his THIRD witness. The Old Testament was his first. The New Testament was his second, and now the Book of Mormon is his third. Along with this I read 2 Nephi 29:12, and couldn't help but wonder-Where the other records are? I love how the scriptures demonstrate to us the love that God has for us. They testify that God and Christ love ALL the children of God. Christ didn't just show himself to some of God's children. He showed himself to ALL of God's children, and had them record it.

My prayer is that we all continue to feast upon ALL of God's words. We will be accountable for knowing the gospel in it's fullness as contained in the scriptures. I know that as y'all study prayerfully and with real intent God will reveal things to you.

Hey y'all,

We had a pretty interesting week this past week. Yesterday we knocked on a door, and the woman who answered immediately asked Mormons? I responded Yes! She responded with "I am Baptist, Christian, I believe in the Trinity, and Jesus Christ IS God." She then closed the door. Sister Tu'ifua and I walked away not really knowing how to respond....

The area here seems to be at a stand still. Either we aren't able to find any one interested in our message. Or when we do find a lot of new investigators they seem to drop within a couple of days. It's very puzzling to me how this works... However, things are going really well with Sister Holley. We taught her about the Restoration this week, and she said that she has been reading the Book of Mormon. I felt that the lesson we had with her was the best one we have taught thus far. When Sister Tu'ifua invited her to Baptism she said yeah but then began to cry. She doesn't understand fully why she needs to be Baptized again. So when we see her this week we are going to focus on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Especially on RECEIVING the Gift of the Holy Ghost.

We had a great lesson with Tiffany Newson this week. She actually prayed! She actually wasn't going to end us with the prayer. But Sister Tu'ifua mentioned that she promised us last time that she would. She said, "oh", and then prayed. I was really ecstatic that she actually prayed this time. Since we have been trying to get her to do this several times.

Yesterday was an interesting day.  We found out that two of our ward members passed away. We have been working with one of them; Brother Holliman. What was heart breaking to me is that we weren't able to see him this past week like we had hoped. We tried and tried for rides to get out there. But it just didn't workout. The good news is that the family was very grateful for the visits we have been able to make out there.

This morning I studied D&C 4. I really focused on dissecting it, and reading additional scripture to help me really understand the doctrine behind this section. What stood out to me as I studied was "layeth up in store." As I studied what this sentence means it occurred to me that as we put the armor on God on, live the gospel, and keep Christ as our foundation. We will be prepared and ready for when the "bridegroom comes". We will have oil in our lamps, and will be prepared to meet God.

My prayer is that we continue to fill our lamps with oil. That we continue to pray, and study the scriptures along with attending church. So that we will learn what we must do in order to be prepared to meet God. May we not procrastinate becoming better and more Christ-like.

Love y'all!

Hey y'all,
We had some pretty amazing experiences this week. On Wednesday night we invited Sister Holley to start taking the discussions. We have been meaning to invite her for quite awhile. Since she has been coming to church every week for the past couple months. But every time we were about to. It just never felt like it was right until the other night. She accepted the invitation. So we are looking forward to starting to teach her this week. We met a man named Dexter this week, and we are really excited to be able to start teaching him. He grew up in Memphis, and had an LDS friend. He had heard of the Book of Mormon but didn't understand what it was exactly. So we introduced the Book of Mormon to him as another testament of Jesus Christ. His interest was caught in the fact that it talks about the Resurrected Christ coming to the America's. He is very interested in reading the Book of Mormon. My prayer is that he reads it with a sincere heart so that he can come to know the truth of it.
We have also started to re-teach a Less Active named Sister Sanders. She amazes me when we talk with her because she has a great desire to make her life right. We first came into contact with her on Tuesday, and she asked us to reteach her the lessons. We went over Wednesday and re-taught her about the Restoration. She even had a nonmember sister-in-law there, and was testifying and explaining things to her. Sister Sanders came to church yesterday, and I was ecstatic! I am so happy for her. She has true Faith in that she is acting upon the desires of her heart.

Right now Sister Tu'ifua and I are continually trying to work on ways to show the members that we Love them. We feel that that is what is going to motivate them to do missionary work.

This week we had a pretty interesting experience. We went to see Riley for our return appointment, and were greeted by a very clever sign. It read, "No Soliciting. We aren't buying and we already have God in our hearts." I thought that this was pretty smart on their part. They have everything covered...;)

This morning I was given a really neat insight by the Spirit. I was reading Alma 12:6 and was reminded of 2 Nephi 1:15. In Alma 12:6 It tells us that the devil encircles us about with chains. While 2 Nephi 1:15 talks about how the Lord encircles us about in the arms of his Love. How grateful I am to know that all the Lord wants for us is to be happy. He wants to save us from sins, pains, and weaknesses. We just need to accept the atonement, and rely completely on him.
My hope is that we all can let the atonement fully encompass us. That we come to understand it more daily. That we strive each day to understand more about our Savior. May we always Remember Him.
Love,
Sister W. Williams

Hey y'all!
Hope everyone has had a great week. This week has been pretty good-very up and down though...;)
Things picked up a little bit this week. We were able to find quite a few people, and had some pretty amazing experiences. We came back into contact with Tawanna this week. She admitted to us that she has been avoiding us. She says that she doesn't want us to give up on her though. The problem is that temptations have a big hold on her right now. She is moving backward rather than forwards. We committed her to coming to church, and when I asked if we could text, call, or knock on her door. She said that we could be persistent and do all three. So we ended up texting, and knocking on her door yesterday. Unfortunately, she didn't respond to either of them.

Things with the Hodges are picking up. We had a great visit with them this week. Sister Hodges mentioned that they want to get the grandkids into scouting. We are hoping that this will create a desire in them to start coming to church on Sundays.

Yesterday we invited the Nelson family to re-take the discussions. I feel that there is a lot of potential with this family. They haven't seen missionaries in 17 years, and one of their sons isn't a member. I am looking forward to teaching them, and rekindling how they felt when they first joined the church! :)

Sister Tu'ifua and I are doing great. We are just working on serving the members and developing Charity. We feel that that is what needs to happen to increase the work here.

We had a very unique experience this week. We felt prompted to knock on a certain home. After knocking we realized that mosquitoes were all over the door. So we weren't sure what was going to happen. After a few minutes a woman came to the door, opened it up, and then immediately slammed it shut because of the mosquitoes. Sister Tu'ifua and I weren't sure what to do so we just stood....She then asked if we could come over to the garage. We then had a really great discussion with her. She was very open into reading the B.O.M. We gave her a Book of Mormon app pass along card, and explained that she could actually listen to the B.O.M. in the car. She responded by saying that she would plug it in, and listen to it through her stereo. She missed our return appointment though. We believe though that she is out of town.

I learned quite a bit from my studies this week. I have continued to study from Preach My Gospel. This morning I liked how it says that, "Reading, Pondering, and Studying the Book of Mormon are critical for an enduring conversion." This statement is very powerful to me. It's amazing how the word of God can do so much for us in our lives. Not only does the B.O.M. convert, gives us knowledge, and empower us. But it deepens our conversion and continuously brings us closer to Christ.

Have a great week!
Love,
Sister W. Williams

Hi y'all!!

I hope y'all have had a great week. This week was quite the roller coaster. Full of lot's of ups and downs. But most importantly Hannah was Baptized!!!
Hannah's Baptism went AMAZING!! Her Mother and Grandmother ended up attending. There also was a large support from the Ward as well. In fact, some young men had to sit out in the hall because the room was so crowded. Hannah gave her testimony at the end of the program, and many hearts were touched because of it. The spirit was remarkable during the whole service, and everyone who came really enjoyed the service. I was able to play the Violin for interlude while she got dressed, and it was a remarkable experience for me. I could feel the spirit very strongly as I played. Other than Hannah's Baptism our week was pretty rough. We had some amazing experiences, and then ended up being dropped. It seems as though our investigators aren't wanting to keep commitments.

Sister Tu'ifua and I are currently trying to come up with new finding techniques. Specifically new door approaches. Spiritual Harvesting isn't working right now so we are going to the "drawing board". My prayer is that we are able to come up with something that will really work for this area.

Hannah told us some very exciting news this week. She is strongly considering going on a mission. What's remarkable to me is that she really wants to do the Lord's will in all things. She looks to the Lord in every thought, and fully rely's on him. What a remarkable example she has been to me of doing God's will.

This week in studies I have started to read Preach My Gospel from the beginning. As I have done this my knowledge has increased greatly. I feel that I am getting a better grasp of missionary work as a whole. My understanding is increasing of every phase of the work. I hope that as I continue to study PMG my missionary work will improve, and I will become the missionary God intends for me to be.
My prayer is that we increase in understanding and wisdom everyday. From our studying of the scriptures daily.

Have a great week!

Love,
Sister W. Williams

Hi y'all!

Everything with Hannah is continuing to go well. Her eyes are fixed on her Baptism this weekend. She told her parents and Grandma this week about her Baptism. Her parents aren't too supportive. But her Grandma is completely behind her. We just keep telling her to love her parents, and to lead by example. I have learned a lot from Hannah. The number one thing is that she completely wants to do God's will for her. She keeps telling us that all she desires is what God desires for her. What a great mind set to have!

We had a great first lesson with Tawanna this week. She asked us a lot of questions. Which was neat because she really wants to understand everything. She accepted the Baptismal Invite of August 23rd. We were disappointed when she didn't show up at church yesterday. Since she had texted us the day before saying that she would hopefully be there. I am praying that this week we are able to get her to come to church.

Yesterday I felt strongly prompted to knock on the house next door to the church. We knocked 2 times, and heard the Television's volume turn down. So we walked away. But as we were walking down the street a man called us back. His name is Levar, and apparently his wife is a former investigator. We gave him the Restoration lesson. Since he talked about how in other churches he has noticed the "misconstrued" doctrine that has come up. He eagerly asked for a copy of the Book of Mormon. I am excited to teach him more this week. I can tell how prepared God has made him for our message.

We had another interesting thing happen to us yesterday. A policeman called us over, and started asking us questions. He didn't realize that sisters come out on missions just like the elders. At first it seemed as though we had found a new investigator. However, that thinking was changed when he told us all the things he knew regarding the church. What was sad to me is that even though he knows a lot. He doesn't know the truth. He knows about all of the "deep doctrines" of the Church. But a lot of the information is incorrect. I hope that at least he gained some reliable knowledge from us.

This week in studies I was enlightened upon the doctrine of Tithing. I studied Tithing in both the Gospel Principles manual, and Preach My Gospel. Since that was one of the lesson's we taught Hannah this week. As I studied I was rebuked by God. I came to the realization that I need to pay tithing not only on income. But on every increase of money I receive. I am glad that God gave me more knowledge regarding the commandment of Tithing. So that I can live this commandment fully. What a relief that came over me as I was able to pay what I owed yesterday. I know that the Lord will bless me as I desire to keep all of the commandments fully.

My prayer is that all of us live the commandments fully. That we really study the commandments, and learn how we can live them to the best of our ability. Have a great week. My prayers are with you!

 Love y'all!

Hey y'all!!

I hope y'all have had an incredible week. It sure has been an incredible one here!! :)

The area here seems to be picking up quite a bit. We had some incredible experiences this week. One of my favorite highlights of the week is that we had 10 member present lessons. That is an all time high for my mission thus far. It's incredible to me to see the difference in teaching with, and without members. Investigators progress a lot more rapidly when members are involved.

Hannah Simpson is doing well, and is continuing to press forward toward her baptismal date of August 9th. She is getting fed a lot of anti from her family. But she is staying strong. She texts us her questions, and we respond in the best way that we know how. She is quite the studier. She is really feasting upon the words of Christ. It is neat to see the knowledge that she has been given just as she seeks it out.

We had a really great lesson with Tawanna this week. We took Sister Welch over, and she was a great fellowshipper to her. She invited Tawanna to church, and offered to have a lesson at her house. We did our best to overcome Tawanna's concern of coming to church yesterday. But we didn't seem to have resolved it. Even with Sister Welch's invitation to church. Tawanna still didn't attend. She doesn't want to be hypocritical and is very shy. We tried to overcome that by sharing that Christ came to be a physician to sinners; not the righteous. This week I hope to be able to overcome her concern of church fully.

We have had quite the experience with Dean Herrow. He met with Elders before, and never picked up the Book of Mormon. But ever since we have been working with him. He has been really feasting upon the scriptures. He asks us lots of questions regarding the Book of Mormon. Which is great because I can tell his heart is searching. He may not know it yet but because he wants to know the truth. I know that through prayer he will have a desire to change.

This week in studies I have been focusing on studying from the Bible, Book of Mormon, and Gospel Principles manual. I have learned a lot by studying this way. I have really come to Love the Gospel Principles manual. In fact, I have learned a lot about basic doctrine in the church just from my reading of it. My goal is to continue to study in this manner. So I can get a better grasp on every gospel principle that I teach.

My prayer is that we all take our studies of the gospel more seriously. That we use all the resources we have to increase in our knowledge.

Love y'all!

Hey y'all!
I hope y'all have had an incredible week. It sure has been an amazing one for me. Filled with many miracles from God.
The area here experienced a lot of success this week. We had some pretty incredible experiences this week. First off, I have finally come to know why I was sent to Senatobia. We went over and saw the Hodge family this week, and had an incredible experience. We took a sister from the ward who has just recently been reactivated. This was inspired by God since she had a lot of connections with the Hodges. This dear sister was able to share her experience of coming back to church with Sister Hodge. It seemed to really help Sister Hodge as she mentioned her concern of currently having Word Of Wisdom issues. I shared how we all sin, and there are many members who still have Word of Wisdom problems. But that they still attend church. This was just the encouragement she needed. As a result of this she committed to coming to the pioneer picnic this week. She is going to bring her non-member daughter in- law, and grandkids.

Yesterday was incredible. Sister Camille Bishop gave her homecoming talk, and had two non-member friends at church. One named Hannah Simmons came up to us after church , and shared the great desire she has to be baptized with us. So last night we had dinner with the Syme's family (Camille's Sisters family) and afterwards had a spirit filled lesson. We taught Hannah the gospel of Jesus Christ. We had her pray between the Baptismal dates of August 2nd and 9th as we weren't sure which one God wanted for her. As she prayed it was answered as August 9th. She has a great desire to be Baptized, and we are just praying that she is given strength. As she is scared to tell her family. So if you could, please keep Hannah in your prayers.

Sister Tu'ifua and I seem to be struggling on teaching in unity.  In lessons it seems as though I am headed one direction, and she is headed a total other way. But we are trying to work on that. I hope that we figure it out so that we can really help our investigators progress.

I had a really spiritual experience reading through my Patriarchal Blessing this week. I took a paper and created two columns. One column I had as "Blessings from God", and the other was "What I need to do to receive those blessings". As I dissected by blessing I came to the realization that God has blessed me beyond measure. All I need to do is live worthy of the blessings, and seek after them daily. It was eye opening to me because I didn't realize how many blessings God is willing to impart on all of us. It also was an eye opener to see what I need to be seeking after, and how I need to be living my life. My goal this week is to focus on living my life in a manner that is in accordance to the promised blessings I may be given.

My prayer is that we realize how many blessings we truly are given from the Lord. We need to seek after the gifts he has given us. We need to live our lives in a way that he can bless us. Keep being Member Missionaries, and I know the Lord will allow you to feel of the joy that comes from bringing a soul unto him.
Have a great week, and know that y'all are in my prayers!
Love,

Hi y'all!!

I hope y'all had a great weekend. I learned a lot this week about the great Nation that we live in. How blessed we are to live in a nation truly under God.

This week has been both good, and a little rough. We found a lot of people this week. But most of them have already dropped off. We are continuing to work hard, and I know that miracles will happen. We were really hopeful that Debbie, and her 4 kids were going to come to church yesterday. We committed her to coming at our lesson on Friday. We even texted her on Saturday night, and Sunday morning but she didn't show up.

We contacted a media referral this week. We got a return appointment, and two New Investigators out of it. Mercedes is a 16 year old who ordered a Bible from Mormon.org. Her mom; Betty ended up being at home as well. So we introduced the Book of Mormon to them, and they said that they both want to learn more. I look forward to teaching them with Sister Berry this week.

I am really excited because the Bishop here is really on board with missionary work. Yesterday in sacrament meeting he testified of the experience he had this week with missionary work. He said that every morning, and evening he prays that the Lord will deliver him "silver platters." Silver platters; meaning putting people in his path who are prepared to hear the gospel. He shared two experiences; good and bad. He mentioned how he was saddened when he missed a great opportunity to share the gospel. I know that his testimony definitely lit a fire among a lot of members.

This week in studies I prepared a lot for the talk I gave on Patriotism yesterday. As I studied for my talk I realized how God truly founded America. He always intended for this nation to be a land of freedom, and prosperity. It didn't just start with the founding fathers. It started with Lehi & his family being led to the "promised land". It helped me to realize that I need to be more grateful for the freedom's I enjoy. Especially freedom of speech since it allows me to proclaim the gospel to those who haven't heard it.

My prayer is that all of us pray for "silver platters". That we pray every morning and night for missionary opportunities. I know that as we do this, and open our mouths. That we will be able to feel of the joy that comes from bringing souls unto God.

Love,

Sister W. Williams
